Having a dog and looking after him as one of your children is

its origin in early 1500 in Newfoundland where they were used by fishermen to
retrieve in the Labrador current from where its name comes. Its gentle, calm and friendly nature makes
it one of easiest breeds when it comes to training. It is a medium-sized dog
with not a very long coat, so easy to groom.
These are excellent swimmers with webbed
feet and soft mouth. These are very obedient and excited to make their owners
always happy and aggression is often not found in this breed until and unless
they are not properly socialized. However, training at an early age is required so
that issues such as aggression, anxiety, etc should not develop in adulthood. These
mostly come in chocolate brown, white, black and tan colours.
Golden retriever
These are also from the retriever family
which was used in-game hunting and to retrieve because of their soft mouth
which would not harm the shot game while retrieving. These have a long coat instead of a short one so grooming can be a real consideration for the owner.
These are medium-sized with an average life span of around 10-12 years.
These also have webbed feet to swim properly
in water and are also quite friendly in nature but in recent years aggression
is observed in the breed so choose your dog accordingly because these can
become serious issues if left unattended. These again are very easy to train as
they are always ready to serve and are excellent for use such as drug and
explosive detection, rescue operations, and therapy dog too because of their
great sniffing power, intelligence, and gentle nature.
Poodle
These are one of the most popular breeds when it
comes to celebrities whether it be Rihanna, Jacklyn Smith, Marilyn Monroe,
Walt Disney and many more who did have poodles as their companions and used to
take them everywhere along wherever they go. Poodles actually come mainly in 3
sizes which are large, medium and miniature ones. The miniature ones are the
most popular one and one could easily be seen in every other dog being a show
stopper.
Although these are not that easy to train as
compared to the retrievers still are a very friendly and loving breed which can
be excellent for a family. These have a long coat and need a lot of attention
when it comes to their grooming part. Generally, their life span is around 12
years and could also reach 15 in some cases where they are taken good care of .This
breed is not in the working line and are mostly show quality dogs and can be
obedient if training starts at an early age.
Pug
These are considered to be one of the cutest
breeds as they are in the toy dog category when it comes to their size. These
have punched face with a flat nose with wrinkles on its face and curled up
tail. These tiny teddy bears are very common these days and do shed hair to
some extent. These are not easy to train as these are somewhat stubborn but
will be by your side always as these have been seen to have anxiety issues if
left alone.
Because of their punched face and flat nose
breathing issues are very common in the breed and cannot sustain in extreme
cold or heat. These are not generally athletic ones and spend most part of the
day lying around. Training and exercise are really important as they tend to get
obese very easily. Their lifespan is around 10 years and is prone to breathing
issues and skin infections so they need a lot of attention. But still, because of
their small size and friendly nature, they can be considered good for
families.
Shih Tzu
It is
one of the ancient breeds from China where they were developed by crossbreeding
between a Lhasa apso and a Pekingese. These were originally used as footwarmers
by the Chinese emperors and were also carried along to provide a sort of comfort
to the emperors. These have a really long coat and grooming is a serious concern.
Being a toy dog these can sustain in apartment living as well and do not require
excessive exercise
Probably not the easiest to train but are
really loyal to their owners and are also good for the people who are sensitive
to dog allergies as these dogs do not shed hair. As these were bred mostly to
provide companionship, they would be mostly lying in your lap most of the day.
Training can be a little difficult but can be managed if a proper routine is
maintained. Their lifespan is around 15 years and are quite healthy except for
breathing issues because of their punch face and flat nose. Because of their
calm temperament, these are extremely good with small children and can be a
great addition to the family.
